Renderings from 3D models of historical significance in Cyprus for the Leventis Foundation
The following pictures are renderings of 3D architectural models of various buildings in the Old Town of Nicosia, Cyprus. They were commissioned for an exhibition by the Leventis Foundation at their new museum of Cyprus history in Nicosia. The 3D models were made with lower than normal polygon count in order to be used in an Augmented Reality display developed by ARMES, which is a University of Cyprus incubator company.
This is an image of the Phaneromeni Church, in Nicosia, Cyprus. The church is named after the nunnery that occupied this area of Nicosia before the church was built. The structure that can be seen here was built in 1872 and is made mainly of sandstone. The achitecture is reminiscent of many churches and chapels in Cyprus.
